Why is it called Kṛittikās?
Kṛittikās, means in Sanskrit कृत्तिका, Pleiades.
The Pleiades are the closest star cluster to Earth, consisting of seven brightest stars, which are the ones that gave this constellation its name. Subsequently, 9 essential stars have been studied, as they are the most visible from the earth without a telescope, although actually, today we know that it consists of between 500 and 1000 stars, many of them still unknown to Humanity
